Be Kind

Allah is kind and He loves kindness in all matters. Be kind.

Allah loves kindness and gentleness in all matters, so we should manifest these qualities even when we face abuse and cruelty. On one occasion, the Prophet was insulted and cursed by his enemies but he did not return their unkindness. Rather, he showed patience and forbearance and encouraged his companions to be kind.

The Quran testifies: “By mercy of Allah, [O Muhammad], you were lenient with them. And if you had been rude [in speech] and harsh in heart, they would have disbanded from you. So pardon them and ask forgiveness for them and consult them in the matter. And when you have decided, then rely upon Allah . Indeed, Allah loves those who rely [upon Him]” (3:159).

This Qur’anic verse clarifies that benevolence and kindness of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) to all was one of the reasons for people’s attraction to him. That’s a cardinal part of our obligation in spreading Da’wah. Never look down on others, be appreciative of every simple act of kindness by anyone, try to overlook, forgive and talk gracefully to those who make mistakes, and say words of peace to everyone.  Allah loves it!

This is interesting too! Read also about  Indeed, the first House [of worship] established for mankind was that at Makkah - blessed and a guidance for the worlds (Quran 3:96).

So, the next time you pass by a poor homeless woman wandering on the street, or a stranger caught in  trouble, try taking a minute of pause off your busy life and ask , “How can I help?”.

Be the change, be kind.
